Root canal

Hi all,
I'm due to have root canal treatment in about ten days time. I have an infection in the root of my front bottom tooth and the tooth is extremely loose. To the point I can't bite on it or chew anything. It's not painful except if I accidentally bite on it.
I was wondering whether anyone could tell me if the root canal will fix the wobbliness? Its really hard to live with at the moment, but I can't quite see how root canal will fix the looseness.
For other medical reasons, I can't have the tooth out (which would be my preference, but it's not feasible and my dentist definitely will not do an extraction)

Sounds like it’s got some gum disease going on at the root.

It’s wobbly because there’s not enough bone to hold it and also there may be infection present. There could be two totally separate issues or one issue affecting the root and the gums
There may be other things going on as well you really need to discuss it with the dentist
I’ve never heard of any situation where a tooth can’t be extracted at all.

Generally people with significant medical history are referred to a specialist at a hospital Perhaps your dentist would refer you to someone else to do that too
