Help!! I hate the layout of our house, I want a kitchen that we can eat in - a casual place for the kids to sit while I'm cooking.
The original idea was to build an extension, however one of my kids became very poorly a few years ago and I needed to leave my job to be his full time carer. Money is fairly tight so not much scope for doing much. However there is a bit of equity so we could use that if needed.
I've attached a picture - currently I have blocked off the through doors from the dining room - this means the dining room can still have a table but also my husbands work space for the 3 days a week he works from home.
We don't use the back door in the utility room which gives me space for drying clothes , recycling etc. I have 4 kids so there's a heavy workload.
The front room that's allocated as a study is now used as a bedroom.
Any and all ideas really welcome x
