Weird mouth sensation

Hi,

For the past five days I've had this weird mouth sensation. It's like I've drunk a shot of that horrible blue aftershock drink or brushed my teeth with the most menthol based toothpaste ever. This cool, burning sensation. It's around my lips, across my gums, my tongue, roof of my mouth and now this morning down my throat too. Nothing has changed with what I eat or drink. Nothing I eat or drink alleviates it either. It doesn't taste, it FEELS.

What is it? Anyone else had this and know what it is??

Oral thrush?

Yes it could be thrush. Go to a pharmacy.

Acid reflux?

If it were thrush, wouldn’t it have symptoms like sore patches and white bits?

Agree with pp, I get the burning mouth thing several times a year. Its usually a good indicator that I am run down so I drink more water, take a multivit and make sure I get a good night's sleep. By day 3 its calmed right down.

Interesting that you say this- I have just spent 8 days sleeping on a hospital chair next to my daughter. Not much sleep, lots of stress and feeling very run down

I get this when pregnant!

Simple things that might help alleviate the discomfort are sipping chilled water and sucking slivers of crushed ice.
I agree it's very much stress related, so get as much rest as you can, easier said than done of course.
I hope this distressing condition soon resolves for you.

Hello everyone I need some help I have this nasty taste that goes around my teeth. It burns the front of my tongue when it touches my to top front teeth. It burns more when I drink, eat and brush my teeth. It burns my chest when I swallow my saliva don't get me wrong I am on acid medication. But I thought it would of helped with the symptoms I had composite fillings put in 3 months ago where my tongue is burning. I have lost 6 stone in 3 months for being so I'll I have no appetite at all. And my food is not digesting properly I see when I go toilet sorry if you much info. I would be greatful for feedback. My tongue is stating to split I also get a nasty chemical smell that comes in my mouth it gives me and breath. Does anyone think this could do with having the fillings in. I have green phlegm with blood in it.

Hiya just come on this post to see if I could get some help. I have this nasty taste in my mouth that burns my lips and tongue and throat. I have lost 6 stone rapidly the medication I am on is Omeprazole 20mg. My tongue as split from the burning taste. When I eat, drink and brush my teeth the mouth burning gets intense. Any feed back will be greatful. I have put a picture of what my tongue looks like

Have you been to the doctor about the weight loss? I take it you didn't lose the weight intentionally?
