Stretch trousers

Posted this in S&B but no replies so a hopeful repost here.

Stretch trousers - why are they so hard to find? I'm a size 16 and I live in trousers for work, I'm chunky of thigh so need a bit of stretch. Had a lovely pair from Dorothy Perkins but alas no longer made.
I just want a really plain, black or navy pair of trousers with a bit of stretch!
Can anyone help?

Thank you. I'm not sure about those as they are called joggers, unfortunately I do need to look a little bit smart.

Bon Marche? I was looking at their trousers last night, although more cropped summery ones. They did have work type ones too though.

Boden Hampshire trousers would fit the bill - more expensive than M&S (although there’s usually a 20% code knocking about for Boden), but great fabric weight and a choice of lengths, wash beautifully.

WeAllHaveWings · 16/03/2022 22:14

Search M&S trouser stretch and there are straight leg trousers there.

Sorry cant link as tablet keeps taking me to the m&s app.

topdot · 16/03/2022 22:15

Ooh the Boden ones look nice, probably a bit over budget but then again, I will get plenty of wear from them.

They are honestly worth it, just hunt out a discount code.

topdot · 16/03/2022 22:16
Can't make that work but I will have a search of their website thank you

Kïn by John Lewis have some lovely black trousers with stretch.

Kipperandarthur · 16/03/2022 22:19

Robell stretch trousers are great.

LadyShmuck · 16/03/2022 22:20

M&S Mia stretch trousers. They do like a jersey ish stretch pair that I wear all the time for work and they look like real trousers. People always ask where they're from. They do them in a cotton Chino kind of stretch material too, they're not as good.

topdot · 16/03/2022 22:21

@Kipperandarthur

Robell stretch trousers are great.
Just looked them up, now why have I never heard of them before? They look fab thank you. Are they true to size do you know?

On the advice of s&b I got two pairs of stretch trousers from Roman. One navy one black.

I love them - will be buying the cropped versions for summer - and they are super comfy. Loads of codes for 20/25% off too.

Have you tried magic trousers? Just Google them. They are sold by lots of retailers

tumpymummy · 16/03/2022 22:31

Another vote for Boden hampshire trousers too. I have a pair I wear to work all the time and they have worn really well. I have a navy pair, but they are quite thick. Great for this time of year but in the summer I wear matalan trousers.

Butteredtoast55 · 17/03/2022 05:43

I was about to say Roman. Their cropped ones look really smart for work

RavenclawsRoar · 17/03/2022 07:29

I was also going to recommend Roman!

Inloo ok be those Mia stretch from M&S, absolutely lived in them when I still worked in the office. I’m too fat for the ones I used to own now, so will have to go back and get them in a bigger size.

Jins · 17/03/2022 07:46

Have a search for bengaline trousers. Most retailers seem to have some at the moment. Bengaline is very stretchy but firm enough to keep its shape

BeetyAxe · 17/03/2022 07:48

Inoo was meant to be “I love”. Don’t know how that happened!

GeneLovesJezebel · 17/03/2022 07:50

I wear the M&S joggers for work. I wouldn’t describe them as joggers myself, and they are very comfy and stretchy.

I came to suggest them, went in there on the way past to Yours and ended up with 3 pairs of trousers. I was (a bit) mortified as they are the place my mother shopped but as no one will see the label who cares!
