Tesco delivery question ..

bizzey · 16/03/2022 19:02

Not done a delivery from Tesco for ages ,so don't know if this if the norm now.
But I did not get a printed copy of the order /receipt.
Have they stopped it ?

Also ,I ordered a couple of ready meals with only a 2 day use by date on .(18th)

I checked the page again and it has a 6+ on the picture .

Have I just been unlucky ?

Reason being ...
I bought some bowls that were not what I thought and want to know how to return them .

Thank .

I always get a printed copy of the order.

You should have been emailed a receipt earlier in the day.

They quite often have ‘things with a shorter life than we’d like…'.

star8 · 16/03/2022 19:11

They don't give a paper list anymore.
Also, give them a call and say there were short-dated items you will get refunded. Or next time check when delivered and you can give back to the driver who takes back and you get a refund.

Karwomannghia · 16/03/2022 19:15

All done by email now- no paper.
Sounds like they chose short date meals without looking but as pp said they’ll refund if you complain and they can give you a refund for the bowls from your email. I lost a receipt from in store and returned a faulty item for a refund- they managed to trace the transactions through my Clubcard and because I remembered which till I went to!

I've had shorter days things before but it's always highlighted on my email receipt and you can give them back to the driver if you don't want them.

AHungryCaterpillar · 16/03/2022 19:20

I had one on Thursday and got a printed receipt so must depend where you live...

bizzey · 16/03/2022 19:22

AHH thank you.
Never think to check the dates on deliveries as I am too self conscious about unpacking the crates as quickly as I can !

I have bags ready by the door and just bung the stuff in while sitting on the floor and then get stuck in the middle of all the bags !

Are they open now ?
I will try and find a number .

No, Tesco are not doing it all by e mail now. They are rolling out the system gradually - our delivery centre (a huge, purpose built depot) has not switched yet and I have been told that we will be notified of the change well in advance. We had an issue a couple of weeks ago and this was what I was told by customer services. I also have a family member who works for them on the delivery side of the business and they checked for me and confirmed this to be the case. Anyhow, @bizzey, if you call customer services they are usually very helpful about this type of thing.

Email receipt here too. Tesco have fantastic customer service imo, although I am a delivery saver customer, so I don't know if that makes a difference? They always refund anything I'm unhappy with, no quibbles (infrequent).

ukborn · 16/03/2022 19:39

It's really annoying getting short sell by dates - but while you may look at the dates when shopping in store the picker won't be, though agree it's annoying when the description say 4+ days or whatever.
I get emails now, and always forget to check before the delivery arrives, so it's only when unpacking the crates when I notice a substitution.
The bowls you'll probably have to return to the store.
By the way hand the delivery guy/gal a bag they'll help you.

Pyri · 16/03/2022 19:44

I still get a paper copy!

0800 323 4040 for their groceries customer service. They're still open.
They're brilliant on the phone. I called last night with an issue from yesterdays order and was refunded within 10 minutes

bizzey · 17/03/2022 21:09

Thank you all so much .
I did phone them, got through very quickly...and got refunded.

She is going to raise it with the store as 3 items with a 2 date use by was not right.

Yeah...the bowls need to go back to a main Tesco ,which is 1/2 hour away in car ...that I don't have !
Or on my next delivery, the driver will take them away .

But yes, very good customer service.
