Gender scan wrong?

Hi everyone I'm just after having a 31 week scan and they told me it's a girl, but than gave me a photo and it looks like a boy to me... Any thoughts?

Who scanned you? Were they a professional sonographer?

It's always 50/50, whether they tell you boy or girl! Never guaranteed.

Not all private companies hire qualified sonographers. However, if you are confident in the qualifications of your sonographer then I would trust what they have said to you.

That looks different to my sons gender scan, so I'm inclined to agree Girl!

I'd say girl too, the 3 lines look pretty clear and my boys potty shot was very very obvious even at 20 weeks x

Well, yes it is. You've still got a 50/50 chance of a boy or a girl, no matter what you're told!

What makes you think it's a boy? I'm no expert but I can't see a penis in that picture

But presumably the sonographer saw the moving image and based their assessment on that and not a single shot?

Well at least you've confirmed you don't understand statistics and probability!

You can choose not to believe it something. That doesn't mean the probability of boy vs girl once a trained sonographer has given you their clinical opinion is still 50/50, just because you believe it to be. That's not how maths works.

No. It’s not 50/50, as born out by the statistical accuracy of trained sonographers. Did you think they were fortune tellers?
