Doctor or dentist?!

Since Thursday I've had the worst pain in my mouth. Because it was at the back near my wisdom teeth I thought it was just them coming through. I've had both my mum & partner look at it today, both of them say it's not my wisdom tooth and there's a big lump in my cheek but it's not an ulcer. My first thought was an abscess but I've never had one before and thought this was a lump in your gum? It only really hurts when I eat, which is excruciating and I cannot open my mouth fully. I've got a bit of a temperature, shivery at times, sore throat, could this be linked? Can't open my mouth far enough to check my tonsils. I've taken 2 COVID tests but both negative. I don't want to waste the doctors time if it's an abscess as I know only the dentist can sort that. Can anyone shed any light?

Definitely dentist for antibiotics. I get this every time my wisdom tooth comes through a bit more.

Gargle with salty water until you get to the dentist, it reduces the pain, a lot.

I'm a GP and I'd signpost you to a dentist. If it turns out not to be a dental issue you can contact the doctor then.
