Good morning all! What's everyone up to today?

I've just made myself a coffee & am considering getting dressed before I iron.

So far this morning I've tidied round, washed up, folded washing & have some in the washer, and filed my nails.

I still need to iron school shirts, do something I said I'd do for work, and a little bit of Guiding admin. We need to walk to Lidl for a few bits too, when the girls get up. They had a late one last night so that might not be for a while yet!

Hopefully, it'll all get done this morning & I can spend the afternoon with my crochet t-rex!

Later on I'd like to read some more of my book, with a glass of wine. By that time, I expect the girls will have vanished upstairs to chill with Minecraft/watch other people play it 🙄

We're having a roast chicken for tea 😋 & will probably have a nip to the shop for some sweets for this evening.

What about all of you? :)

Morning all! School uniform washing and house cleaning today, maybe a new jigsaw later this afternoon and roast chicken for dinner. And ignoring a crummy work week ahead!

troppibambini6 · 13/03/2022 09:48

Morning all Smile
I'm curled up on the sofa with tea and the dog but really need to move.
Dh is doing rugby with the 2 youngest. I'm taking dd2 into town for some new jeans and some lunch I'm also dropping dd1 at work.
This afternoon bil is coming over so I'm doing a roast and the usual homework and ironing.
Hope everyone enjoys their day.

I’m about to have a shower. DP and DD are playing downstairs. We’re having DD’s birthday tea - just a very small family gathering - and I need
to go out and get a few more bits (and replace the cake that we ate yesterday Blush).
I’m hoping DP will take DD to the park so she can let off a bit of steam and I can make the house a bit less of a grief hole before the others arrive.

@bloodywhitecat I’ve been thinking about you and your babies a lot. Flowers

alsonotmyname · 13/03/2022 09:55

A few cleaning jobs this morning then gym, taking dc swimming and then a relaxed afternoon, lasagna for tea.

Brightermornings · 13/03/2022 09:58

@EarringsandLipstick

So much housework. And groceries.

And I'm time-wasting on MN!

Same here don't even know where to start
AuntFlorence · 13/03/2022 10:04

Currently watching my kids fight play and having some much needed rest.

Later I will be doing the cleaning, washing, etc, roast dinner, bath and hair washes for the kids, and nails trimmed bits like that, then a bit of a pamper night for myself, and I need to do a module of my college course before tomorrow. Got some admin I need to do really but might roll that over to tomorrow if I don't have time today. Basically how we spend most Sunday's, I like to have one day a week where we don't go anywhere.

Champagneforeveryone · 13/03/2022 10:07

We went out yesterday so now need to perform the car shuffle needed to get DH to church, DS to work, our car outside church so DH can get home and DS's car at work so he can get home.

Sometimes living rurally has definite down sides!

Chelsea26 · 13/03/2022 10:16

We’ve just had a ‘posh French breakfast’ as the kids are calling it. Croissants, pan au choc, fruit salad, yoghurt, granola, OJ and coffee as we had a friend staying over after watching the rugby yesterday.

DP is a little delicate Grin so he’ll have a lazy day with his kids and go to his mums for a roast later.

DS1 is off to play football, his dad is picking him up in a bit. Me and DS2 are going to watch football (and having a cheeky waga’s beforehand which I’m very excited about!)

Simonjt · 13/03/2022 11:18

A fairly lazy Sunday here, my husband has taken my son to a bounce and inflatable place, even better he has taken the baby as well. So I’ve been watching some crufts catch up and I’ve been to the gym.

We’re off to see Wasps v Saints later

Crunchymum · 13/03/2022 11:21

@AuntFlorence

I too like to have a day when we don't do much at all. In the summer obviously we are out a lot more but the rest of the year I think my kids definitely benefit from a day of rest. They at school all week, in childcare until 6pm x3 afternoons a week, have clubs etc. They all love a lazy day... even if does include homework Grin

maddiemookins16mum · 13/03/2022 11:31

We lay in until 9am (that’s late for us!) then I did bacon and egg on toast.
I’ve just tidied through and had a shower/gave my feet a pedicure.
About to prep veg for lunch at 3pm (I made a cottage pie base in the slow cooker yesterday) so am doing the mash pkus carrots, cabbage and broccoli. Pudding will be Nigella’s tinned pears/chocolate self saucing pudding with cream (we tend to have it later around 6pm).
I want to prep a few things for the working week ahead plus we have a Church meeting (on Zoom) at 4pm to discuss our church family hosting some Ukrainian refugees. Not all of us have space but we’ll come up with a plan to support (financially/practically) those that do. We’ll probably chill on the sofa with TV and books for a lot of the day.

anyoldname76 · 13/03/2022 11:37

I've had a chilled morning, just cooking a Sunday dinner, then off to the allotment for a couple of hours, might get a snooze in, then watch a film with the DC before bed

Longcovid21 · 13/03/2022 11:40

Woke up about 8. Ds came back 9ff his sleepover at 10 then straight off to their swimming lessons. Will do easy dinner today of jacket pots, beans and cheese then a bit of tidying around and a dog walk hopefully. Boys are both very tired so I expect they will want to be on their devices this afternoon.

anxiouslama · 13/03/2022 11:41

It's my birthday today!

We were supposed to be at DM however she was taken into hospital so DH is taking me out for lunch.

Longcovid21 · 13/03/2022 11:42

Ooh yes will also be watching crufts. Gutted I can't be there for gun dog day. It's my ambition to go there.

ssd · 13/03/2022 11:46

My dh has taken our eldest to IKEA to buy flat pack wardrobe for her bedroom. He has no idea if it will fit in his estate car. If not he plans to strap it to the roof bars with bungee rope. Then drive back home down the m5. What could possibly go wrong??? It's also very windy today.... I had suggested getting it delivered but he says it costs too much. I am very glad I am not with them because it would be inevitable we would have a massive row. I am changing bed sheets, doing umpteen loads of washing, ironing and may venture into eldests pig stye of a bedroom to look for my hair dryer and hair straighteners somewhere in amongst all the crap on her floordrobe, which is where all her clothes are currently. Then I need to cook a roast dinner for tea, sort uniforms, meal plan for next week and persuade my youngest two to do their homework without losing the will to live!

CoffeeAndRedvelvetCake · 13/03/2022 11:54

I’m having a really bad day.

Everything has gone wrong.

Yesterday I cleaned and tidied the whole house, went to bed early and was looking forward to a relaxed day.

Got woken in the night by both teenagers at different times as they seen to be nocturnal. They woke the baby. I had no sleep from that point.
Woke up to the house a mess. Cooking stuff all over the place from nocturnal cooking and eating. My piles of washing to put away all knocked over (nobody admits to that)

I’ve cried my eyes out, I’ve been snappy and grumpy. I’ve gone to my room as can’t be around people who don’t appreciate anything I do.

Dh seems to be looking after younger dc, tidying all the things I tidied last night and I’m just sick of it. He’s going to speak to them and deal with the situation as I feel like today was the last straw I just want to walk out

Yellowleadbetter · 13/03/2022 12:00

Washing is out blowing in the fresh air and sunshine on the line.
A large ham in BBQ sauce in the slow cooker.
I’ve cleaned out a big kitchen cupboard! Cleaned and cleared stuff out of it.
Hoovered and damp dusted the living room.

Feels good.
After about 2 years of zero motivation to do anything, it feels good to be cleaning, clearing and getting everything in order.

Todays a good day.

bluesugar · 13/03/2022 12:05

Marmite hot cross buns for breakfast. Then a dog walk to the garden centre to get a particular plant that they didn't have.
Home now and lazing around until we go out for lunch a little later.
Movie at home this evening with a glass of wine and cheese board.
Can you tell we were determined to organize a nice day!
Hope everyone has fun!
My DH works overseas and is rarely here and I live alone most of the time, so it's lovely to have him home at the moment and share life. I do know it can be lonely or daunting sometimes when you're alone and reading these posts, so I hope if that's you that you too have a lovely day.

Whelmed · 13/03/2022 12:11

Went to church with DC in the morning, had breakfast and games there. Did a bit of window shopping afterwards. Now I'm watching DD play outside our house, hoping she'll want to go back inside soon. DH is making roast chicken for lunch.
