Hi
We are relocating from New York to London and are looking for schools. Our daughter is half french, but has always been in English speaking schools, her french is decent but can not write in french. She is doing great at school, very confident and an enthusiastic happy learner. She is also good in math
She has been accepted to Ecole Jeannine Manuel but I am concerned of how she would fit. I am aware the school is excellent academically but I am worried she might be lost as most classes are in french and loose confidence or interest. She is also a very sweet girl that thrives in an encouraging environment. In my experience french are more negative, but again this might be my perception. I would appreciate if someone has some insights about this school.
We are also looking at english schools but it is so hard to find a spot.
Thanks so much for any help

Hi @Pr2286 - Did you ever decide? We are trying to determine the right system for our french / american son

@mommytobe2020 Hi, we went for the British system. Our daughter is 9 and while she speaks french and can also write, it is not at the same level of french kids her age. We were told she would be moved half the time to a special class to focus only on French. My daughter is quite strong in Math (participating in competitions) and moving her to do math in french was going to affect the great progress she is doing. Also we felt it was going to be a bit of a cultural shock for her. Finally I do not speak good french and my husband is super busy. I am the one involved in all her school activities. She is happy and confident in the british system and confident. But Jeanine Manuel is a fantastic school. If my daughter was younger, I would have considered more Jeanine Manuel.
