Why else would you read the meter?

Someone came and read our meter yesterday, but only one. But we haven’t had an update on the account. Does it take that long to ad the reading when everything is digital these days?

It can take a couple of weeks for the meter reading company to send the data through to the supplier. They’re a separate company, who are contracted to take and verify readings. So they won’t have access to your supplier’s billing system in order to add them themselves.

If you’re concerned that they weren’t who they said they were you can contact your supplier who should be able to contact the meter reading company to find out. They should carry ID with them though too.
