They are playing music... I'm in bed trying to relax..

Can you recommend a good ear plugs brand?

No Sound proofing between properties which doesn't help

I may put my headphones on...

I really feel for you op. I think if you have been lucky enough to never experience it you dont know what its like and you shouldnt take the Mickey.

Regardless of the time noise shouldnt be unreasonable and in my opinion if it can be heard outside your home it's too loud. But if your council is anything like mine nothing will be done.

The only time I had any peace was during the hot summer with the windows closed and a noisy fan for white noise. I also wore ear plugs.

I changed my routine so I could work whilst it was quiet. I would never do this again because it meant only sleeping 3 hours a night and no one should have to.

One thing I found out from my noisy ex neighbors was they hated noise! So you could always make noise when they are trying to relax or sleep.

But living next to my neighbors did a number on my health. I now live with more neighbors in an apartment building and its quieter.

That's because your opinion is entirely out of line with the guidance on what amounts to a "statutory nuisance", which is what local authorities have the power to enforce against. And if you never expect to hear any noise coming from outside your home, then the onus is upon you to live somewhere without neighbours, not to move to a built-up area and expect the neighbours and the council to bend to your will!

Choice of housing isn't always easy depending on circumstances.

I do think many people want to live in peace, poor/no soundproofing also has alot to answer for....
