Edinburgh cleaner recommendations please!

Hi all!

Does anyone have a lovely cleaner they can recommend?
Things have got a bit on top of us and we would love someone for two hours a week.

We tried someone for the last two weeks but she only vacuumed in the middle of the lounge and left really obvious bits. I had to wipe down the shower after she left. And she wipes around things but doesn't lift them up, which seems strange.

It's not a timing issue as our place is relatively small!

I would be so grateful for recommendations for someone who is super friendly, okay with cats and very detail orientated and happy to possibly iron one or two shirts a week.
I promise I'm not super fussy! Grin
I know there's big things going on in the world, so I am sorry if this is insensitive to anyone's circumstances.

P.S I'm in Stockbridge.

You might be better posting on Scotsnet on here or try Edinburgh Gossip Girls on Facebook.

I am a cleaner (miles away from you)
I could be wrong here, but when you say "things have got on top of us" and "she only vacuumed in the middle of the lounge" and "she doesn't lift things up" - is your house untidy with a lot a furniture/stuff everywhere? Are the surfaces very cluttered?
I ask because if this is the case, and you expect a clean and time to do ironing in two hours your expectations are unrealistic.
She is there to clean, not tidy and endless clutter everywhere really slows things down.
Apologies if this isn't you , but these jobs are my least preferred work as the person never seems to realise I can't work miracles in a cluttered environment. I actually think a whole house clean and ironing is unrealistic anyway, even in a clutter free home.

CheshireCats · 10/03/2022 20:59

*last sentence should read that it is unrealistic in 2 hours.

@CheshireCats
Thanks for your response!
Nope, that's not us at all! Sorry, I meant more that I like the bathrooms to be spotless in case we ever have surprise guests and I've been caught out a few times. I don't expect any tidying, we do all that on a daily basis. I can totally see how a messy, filthy home would be a nightmare in two hours Smile

There was nothing on the floor of the lounge to hinder vacuuming, I had a plant that dropped a few leaves and they were left, along with some feathers from a cat toy. Just little things that catch your eye when you look over a room!

We are in a flat and only need one of the bedrooms to be cleaned, along with ensuite and a family bathroom. It's mainly just the kitchen, lounge, floors and bathrooms really, I do all the dusting and windows etc Smile
