Recommend a hoover?

Apologies for the bone dry content but...please can you recommend a hoover?

I'm sick of lugging mine around. I need something light and whizzy(?). Perhaps one I can use for doing up high. Rechargeable? I don't know.

Help me. Rave about your hoover.

To be honest we’ve gone back to a Henry though I’ve told husband he’s to do most of the lugging about.

TwigTheWonderKid · 10/03/2022 12:07

Miele every time. Totally reliable and lasts forever.

Henry's happy little face is cheering but oh my god, is he lead-lined? So heavy.

I love ours. It's a shark. The best hoover I've owned

MarpleFan · 10/03/2022 12:31

I have one of these and it's great amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0855QYBKV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1]]

I've got a Miele cat and dog and a Shark. Both are decent, but the Shark tends to get clogged tubes (don't get me started on the 'anti-hairwrap) and is fiddly to unblock. When it's fully functioning it's great though.
I like the Miele best I think - it's lighter and all the tools tuck neatly away.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 10/03/2022 12:36

Miele. 7 years and going strong.

AlwaysaLittleBitTired · 10/03/2022 12:40

I have a Shark stick with a mains cable (it's long) and the anti-hair wrap. I love it. Buy a spare filter though for big cleaning days. They're easy to rinse, but need to be dry before using again.

I have had numerous Dysons before this (upright and cylinder) and I wouldn't buy one again. I have also had a Vax, but plastic bits kept snapping off.

deadlanguage · 10/03/2022 12:45

I have a cordless Shark. It’s amazing, so light and easy to whip around. I can do my house twice on a charge and it’s quick to recharge. I have long hair which falls out a lot and the anti hair wrap is great, means not hacking at the rollers with scissors!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 10/03/2022 12:48

I love my new dyson cordless. It's got a laser that shows you where all the mess is. I thought it was a total gimmick but I love it! To buck the trend I absolutely hated my cordless shark. It blocked all the time. Literally did not have enough power to hoover stuff into the bin. Probably fine if you live somewhere clean and don't have pets but for countryside living it was useless!

MysteriesOfTheOrganism · 10/03/2022 12:54

Miele - bought it a few years ago, best I've ever had.

grinbear · 10/03/2022 12:57

I have a Dyson and hate it but everyone I know who has a Miele one raves about theirs.

mbosnz · 10/03/2022 12:59

Miele cat and dog. Love it. It deals well with teenagers' hair, too.

Theregoesmyhomebirth · 10/03/2022 13:04

Miele owners - is it any Miele or always the cat and dog one that people rave about? DH has a grumble every time he uses our cordless so I'm going to treat him to a new hoover Grin (what a lucky man!). There's a Miele for £149 but I don't want to buy another hoover regret and need to replace.

itsnotdeep · 10/03/2022 13:07

I have the Miele C3 - I don't think this is the cat and dog one? (Although I have cats and dogs and it's fine).

partystress · 10/03/2022 13:07

Dog owner. Dysons are crap IMHO. Miele’s good until they go wrong, when it becomes expensive and inconvenient as they insist on having it back and it takes ages.

I have a Halo now and love it.

nearlyspringyay · 10/03/2022 13:30

Cordless Vax Blade Pet, and an eufy for when I can't be arsed. The Vax is brilliant.
