Townhouse...cleaning windows

Skinnytailedsquirrel · 09/03/2022 11:55

We've just moved to a townhouse. Top of top window is about 30 metres high. I can't find a window cleaner that will go up that high round here and I can't clean the outsides from the inside.

Has anyone bought an extending pole system for washing their windows and would they recommend?

Sorry, no advice, but blatantly place-marking!

I tried an extending pole system but couldn't manage to get control at that height. What worked is one of these magnetic window cleaning devices that someone else on here recommended. If you have "plain" windows without bars then this product is fairly effective. Get the 18-30mm one for double glazing:

We have a window cleaner that uses a long pole thingy and a tank with recycled water.

This isn't the one we use but it has a picture of the pole thing. It goes right up to the top floor.

We're townhouse dwellers too - ask your neighbours who they use for window cleaning. There are a couple of window cleaners that cover our area that use an extending pole system and a tank of water in the back of their van.

Our window cleaner manages to do ours with poles. We don't have the type of windows in the roof (velux?) just three stories of normal windows. £25 for new customers, £20 for regular.

Ours does the velux with poles with no problems, higher than the town houses opposite. Ask the neighbours who they use.

We used to have a townhouse too - yes companies that have the pole system should be able to do it. In our case we used a domestic house cleaning firm rather than a traditional 'window cleaner'.

You could also try a gutter clearing firm, they quite often do windows too as clearing the gutters tends to mess your windows up!

We aren't surrounded by town houses hence the lack of this type of cleaner.

I looked at your magnetic gadget @roses thanks - although a bit scarey reading about fingers being trapped! They wouldn't do the ledges or surrounds I don't think.
