Been flagged up about two potential promotions not sure which to try for but can't try for both due to timings.

Job a
191 more a month (after tax, pension students loans etc)
Permanent
Nice job very interesting area relates to my MA more
Good progression options after a few years
Time for extra studying

Job b
387 more a month (after tax etc)
3 Year contract
Steep learning curve but fast progression opportunities (although not 100% very likely)
Fast paced probably stressful interesting area

I support on both these projects so very familiar with both but trying to figure out which best.
2 dc under ten, the extra money would make a difference to our family but I think job b would mean me potentially being busy especially at the start trying to get up to that level

Well, I'd be going after the money personally.

First job is less money now but its permanent, interesting and less stressful, time to study with good progression options in a few years. For me, with 2 kids under 10 this would be a better balance. Also to consider, what is the pension, sick pay etc like? Is the commute any different? How flexible are they both around childcare? (esp taking time off short notice for sickness and so on)

What happens after the 3 years are up?
In job A would you be able to attain the same or a higher salary than job B after 3 years?
