Have you ever taken a big risk in life?

And did it pay off? I feel like I've been very "safe" in my life so far. I've never done anything particularly risky, pretty much always gone for the safe option even if a little part of me wanted to do the opposite!

This is such a good thread. I would love to take one big risk in life at some point before I get too old and feeble. But I don;t even know what it would be. And DH is so extremely risk averse, he thinks it is edgy to shop at Sainsbury's not Waitrose once in a while (I am only slightly kidding here.)

I'd love to take a big risk. Have an adventure for a year or two. But I don't quite know where to start. Or how to persuade DH along for the ride. (Don't want to split up but desperately need more excitement and challenge in life.)

Not me, I hate risk - I'm mostly in awe of people who can take leaps, though!

Married DH at the age of 22 5 months after we met.

Quit our well paying jobs in our 30s to set up a business in France.

Bought a house after one 15 minute visit.
