Musee d@Orsay

Hello! We are planning a trip to Paris in November, and would like to visit the Musee d'Orsay. I have been before but a very long time ago and I am a bit less mobile now.

  • The only day we can go is the first Sunday in November - this is a real pain as it is free entry day and I realise that means crowds and queues. I don't really do crowds/queues but really want to go. Is it best to get there early and queue in advance? I may take a coat and sit on the floor...

  • I can't remember but is there lots of seating inside? I have ME so will need to rest.

*Is the cafe very expensive for a drink and a snack?

We are then going to catch the metro to the eiffel tower just for a look and a crepe !

Somebody better informed will be along in a mo but the last time I went I remember really needing a good sit down and the only place being some hotly-contested benches near the entrance.

And the cafe was indeed very expensive.

My experience could well be out of date as it was about four years ago now.

But definitely worth going.

Ah that is helpful. I don't think they will like me sitting on the floor against the art will they.... hmmm.

I will definitely need to sit.

I SO want to go though!

Just had a quick peek at the website and they have folding chairs available to take in with you - just have to show them ID, no charge.

Will they let us in the cafe just for drinks do you think? I can see a restaurant and a cafe with google but the cafe looks like it does meals too.

Oh wow THANKYOU! I didn't see that. Husband will carry the chair and I can sit. Will be so very helpful.
