Any Social Workers Around

My friend has been a childrens SW for 3 years. 2.5 years working in a deprived area where they worked well and were well thought of. They moved to London to another post in a deprived area and have been there 6 months. They were thrown in at the deep end with no training (different country in uk so different legislation)but just got on with it as best they could and the team lead at that time praised their work. 4 months in a new team lead was put in place and the pressure they are putting on my friend is so bad that they have been signed off sick which is unheard of. My friend is now worried that this will go against them when looking for another post. Any advice would be appreciated.

It’s an HR issue. The fact they are a SW isn’t relevant really. A long period of sickness absence will need to be explained in an application. Same in any job.

Shame she is in this position. SW is stressful. (I am a Sw)
