Sofa beds - Ikea, John Lewis or Furl

As the title suggests, I'm on the hunt for a sofa bed for our lounge. It'll be for my parents, so needs to be a good firm bed and a decent enough sofa. I say 'decent' because we don't use the lounge much and spend most of our time in the family diner room. My parents usually stay upto 3 months as they're coming all the way from Asia, so having a really good bed is important.

On other threads, I've seen good and bad reviews for IKEA Friheten, which didn't really help. I've also seen John Lewis being recoended, although it seems to be a generic recommendation as opposed to a specific sofa bed. And then there is Furl, which is much more expensive, but I would be willing to spend that amount if they're really good as beds.

I need to decide on one in the next 2 weeks, given it can take upto 10 weeks to get the sofa bed, so any recommendations would be highly appreciated!! TIA Smile

I’m not sure about the sofa beds but I bought a Furl storage bed about 20 years ago and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever had. A slat broke a couple of years ago and they sen me one out for free. Amazing service!

We have three sofa beds in our house (we have a big family who often come to stay) You really need, I can't emphasize this enough, to go to a shop and try them out, even if you buy it online later. In essence, a good rule of thumb is you get what you pay for.
Bear in mind the matress is often thinner than you would get on a bed.
I have two king sized duvets, that I use, one to sleep on top of (for comfort) and the other to sleep under.
As you probably realise a good bed setee is more expensive than a corressponding sofa.
Good luck, but I can't emphasise enough, that you really need to try it out first

Thanks @HazelBite! I will be visiting the Furl store this weekend to start trying out some options before I decide which one to get.
Can I please ask which brand(s) your sofa beds are from?

One is from John Lewis (couldn't tell you the brand) We have one in a bedroom that came from Ikea, a decent bed but not a very attractive looking sofa to have in a living room
The third came from an independant department store.
We tried them all out first, some that look quite nice as a sofas are very uncomfortable as beds!
