Where can I source donations?

My dc’s school are trying to raise money for a brand new library.

They have sent a sign up sheet which each parent is supposed to donate time or gifts in order to help raise the money. Now I cannot donate the time, and I can’t really source the gifts (financial difficulties), but I was wondering what shops would be the best to contact in hope of a small donation?

Tesco often donate goods for fundraising

i dont think right now is the best time to be seeking donations for a library!

I agree. They already have a set up for Ukraine but it’s not my choice about the school doing this

If you have a local Co op or Tesco, as pp said, they often have a 'community champion' or similar who can help local charities. They might be able to donate something?

I’ll give them a go thank you

I think Greggs also donate to these kind of causes sometimes. Not sure of the details buy could be worth asking x
