So I feel like the last week or so I'm having to repeatedly repeat myself. Why are we going to X. What are we doing there. etc so not just the usual 43 requests for him to put socks on.

The other day we came out of school, I said we'd go into town and collect the shoes we'd ordered last week. He said ok. On the bus he got upset and asked why didn't we get the shoes before we got on the bus. I reminded him they didn't come from Co-op, our only local shop. We get into town. Go to another shop then walking to the shoe shop he got upset and asked me how come I'd already got the shoes without him. I reminded him we'd paid for them last week but we were off to collect them now. He said OK.

That's just one example, and it's usually something that causes him upset.

Does that sound typical for his age and I've just not noticed it before? He's year 2 so coming 7

Could he just be over tired / overloaded?

Sounds like you're overthinking this. Young children are in their own little world and have imagination and expectations. He seems a sensitive soul with all the crying but obviously he won't remember/understand the minutiae of your adult world of ordering shoes rather than visiting a shop to buy them.

I agree with the above that it sounds like a long boring outing with a child after school. School is very tiring at that age and change of routine is hard.

Sorry that was just one example and they weren't shoes they were CHARACTER WELLIES HE WAS VERY EXCITED FOR lol. Hence hi mwantong to come to the shop to get them. Another example today was about something we were doing together at the art gallery. I feel like I've just had to repeat myself more the last few weeks than normal.

Happy to be told I'm imagining things 😂

I did wonder if it could be a vitamin deficiency?
