early help assessment

After 2 years off because of covid our local autism support group is finally running again. But the rules have now changed and you have to have a current early help assessment to attend the group.

I don't have an early help assessment and tbh I don't need one. Me and my dc loved the group though and I'm wondering if it's worth asking for an early help assessment so we can attend.

How strange.
Who has made this decision ?
Seems daft to clog up the Early Help system for those that need that support by making people who don't be referred Confused

Were you in touch with other people who used to go (WhatsApp or an E-mail chain maybe?) Is it worth just setting up a support Group between you and hiring a local church hall or other community room.

How bizarre.

Thankyou. The only explanation I can think of is they want to keep numbers down because of covid and they are trying to make the group just for families who desperately need help, rather than people like me who went to chat to other parents of children with autism and for my ds2 to use the sensory room.
