New Job Woes

I think it’s time I start looking for a new job

I know, I know it’s only been 4 months since I started this new job, but I don’t think I can go on like this.

The days are boring, and they drag. Its painful. Fair enough if I worked from home, I would occupy myself a lot better but waking up early commuting for 3 hours just to come and sit and do nothing much is NOT how I pictured working this new job would be. At first it was great, I was brought on as boss had a lot of responsibilities and couldn’t handle it all and really needed another pair of hands. But we’re just winding down on a big project which use to keep me busy but not anymore since its almost done now.

I don’t want to talk to my boss about it yet because what if he realises, you’re right, we don’t need you anymore and then sack me and I don’t have anything else lined up?

Should I stick it out in hopes there’s more work for me to do?

Can you ask what other projects are in the pipeline? To get an idea of how long it will be until things pick up again.

Do you have internal documents that need an overhaul that you could concentrate on. Have you checked if there are any courses on udemy or the like to occupy yourself with in the meantime.

Can you ask to work from home during the quiet period. I would be the exact same im 100% a doer.
