Do waffles count?

I felt quite left out in the supermarket today, everyone around me loading up on eggs and flour, sugar and lemons. I really can't stand pancakes!! Grin Do you think those waffles out of the yellow packet with half a bottle of maple syrup sloshed on top count as 'Celebrating Pancake Day', or is that just cheating?

The recipes for waffle batter and pancakes batter aren't that different I'd argue. Same with Yorkshire puddings

Sounds good to me!

Yeah they are pretty much the same ingredients just cooked differently. Totally counts

Have what you like. It would be a bit daft to eat food you don't like because it's a certain day.

But not as daft as stocking up to celebrate a day, where the whole point is to use up what you already have in in preparation for lent.

Unless you observe Lent, Shrove Tuesday is just an excuse to eat pancakes - on that basis eat whatever you want.
