Baby wobbly at sitting 7 months

I know all babies develop differently but at 6 months I read sitting up is a milestone. My just turned 7 month can sit up but he leans very forward and if we try to sit him upright he just wobbles he can't sit for longer than 1 minute or so without falling over. Was anyone else's babies like this. I worry too much about him lol. Blush

Just keep doing lots of tummy time and exercises where they need to hold their head up. Bumbos are a good investment and you can get them secondhand for a fiver on marketplace.

DS1 didn't sit up reliably until 10 months. Didn't crawl until 13 months, didn't walk until 18 months. By 2 years you really couldn't tell that he'd been behind with those tasks.

Unless there's something obviously wrong, please don't give too much credence to milestones.

He'll get it. He just needs lots of practice, I used to sit with DD between my legs so she'd have a kind of wall each side to stop her wobbling over completely.
Also do your research before buying a bumbo as pp said, they seem to actually be bad for development, I'd steer clear.

He is fine. 6 months is probably average for sitting up but that means some will get it earlier and some later.

Bimbo isn't recommended by professionals. Lots of tummy time and practice and baby will get there in their own time.

Yes mine was like this. He's now an adult who can lift his own body weight Grin.

Don't think any of mine were stable sitting up until 8/9 months. Guidelines are exactly that, just guidelines, don't worry

DuggeeHugPlease · 01/03/2022 14:49

Agree that sounds fine for 6 months. Starting to be able to sit unaided but not reliably. Try not to compare, they all get there in the end.

Completely fine. 4 children here, all were wobbly at 7 months.

Mine is 8 month old and I still put pillows around him as he still falls over, mainly when playing with a toy and not concentrating. Your baby is fine😃
