Another Ukraine one: Is there anyway Zelensky can survive this war?

I understand lots of people will say it is in bad taste to be speculating about someone’s hypothetical death (and tbh I agree) so I am fully aware this may get deleted.

I, like a lot of people around the world, have greatly come to admire President Zelensky. It truly seems like he was born for this moment.

However, he seems to have resigned himself to the fact that he will die in this conflict. I can’t imagine how demoralising that will be for the Ukrainian people. However, given he is refusing to leave Kyiv I cannot see a way for him to survive.

It has been playing on my mind a lot. I desperately want to believe there is a way he can survive. Any thoughts?

@JimmyDurham Took many years for those conflicts to resolve. Hopefully this can be resolved much sooner to minimise bloodshed.

This doesn't answer your question OP, sorry but what happened to the invasion thread? I was engrossed....

The usual Russian way is to lock political opponents away in a dark hole forever & ever. You could argue that's a fate worse than death.

It was almost full the last time I checked. A new one will probably be starting.

The third invasion thread seems to have disappeared.

Full up. There’s a 4th one now.

I tend to think Zelenskiy could still , in theory, be choppered out of Kyiv to somewhere like Lviv. The US already offered to do this and I doubt the Russians would shoot down an unarmed US helicopter. Plus, it seems to me that the Russians are actually a bit reluctant to start a tanks-on-the-streets shooting war in Kyiv, presumably owing to the risks of casualties/defeat?

He could get out alive still, although the situation for Ukraine on the whole does not look good.

I hope he survives. His bravery probably (hopefully) gives the ukrainians extra hope. Even if Russia wins, I think they can't keep Ukraine long term if they keep resisting. They're a brave people.
