How much electricity do you use a day

I use about 12 units which I think is quite high. I live alone in a large apartment (very old building) and heating is gas. I never use the tumble dryer and literally just have TV, lights, Alexa, fridge freezer and hair appliances. Would you say this sounds about right. I'm with Shell and my standing charge 49.02 per day?!

Just checked my app; I’m with Octopus and use between 5.5 - 8 units per day. I also live alone but in a larger property. My standing charge is 23.44p/day.

Thanks, I suppose it may be about right. I also have electric gates to the property which open and close a few times a day. I can't actually believe just how much we'll all be spending on gas and electricity. It's very worrying.

Oh my goodness - yesterday we used 18.5 kWh and almost 20 on Sunday. The lowest days seem to be around 11.

Definitely something we need to work on

So far this month 351kWh, so averages out to 13kWh a day. Family of four, with an electric car and electric hot water/heating (heat pump).

So I think your 12kWh does sound odd. Do you have access to your meter? You could turn things off and on and try and work out what the drain is.

We had an electric oven that I realised sucked energy like crazy - I swear it matched the car charging - and then it gave up the ghost so we replaced it, and now I can no longer see jumps in consumption on days I use the oven! So you never know, it might be a faulty appliance.
