Anyone know why some peoples price rises from April are different to other peoples.
Just had email like many others and my prices are going up to the max but see others have been sent emails for lower figures

Dunno but our payments have just doubled.

ofwarren · 25/02/2022 21:19

Ours has jumped up to an astronomical amount with Bulb

ihatethecold · 25/02/2022 21:25

Didn’t bulb go under.
We are with bulb and had this email today.

Is there another bulb thread ? My DD at the moment is £74 but the bill is nearer £100, the email said my DD would increase to £135, but that's based on the lower figure so I'm assuming it will be nearer £160 which is what I'd worked out on the increased price cap figures.

@ihatethecold

Didn’t bulb go under. We are with bulb and had this email today.

It's in special administration. It's still trading at the moment.

I think the price cap varies depending on region and the numbers quoted in the press are the average.

Wafflefudge · 25/02/2022 21:43

They are only increasing my direct debit by £11 a month, but it had already increased a lot in October.

I have 2 properties, both with bulb. I've been sent different prices- but one property has a day and night rate, whereas the other just has a single rate. I wonder if that is the difference you are seeing?

earsup · 25/02/2022 21:51

Bulb jacked up prices a long time ago so dump them...one of the most expensive companies for a long long time !

Wafflefudge · 25/02/2022 21:52

@earsup I have done price comparisons for changing and didn't get a better quote.
I will do again but am doubtful I'll get better tbh.

@Hairyfriend no I don't mean I have two prices I meant people have posted their new prices online and everyone seems to have been given different prices.
According to papyrus the cap varies from area to area which I hadn't realised.

I do fils electric account, he's with bulb as that was the best rate at the time from a well known brand.

Day rate: 22.761p to 30.542p
Night rate: 15.554p to 20.871p
Standing charge: 27.471p to 50.141p

Fil only used his bedroom heater as he has a coal fire downstairs. His £40 bills are now nearly £150. Do we just let him freeze to death because we can't afford to pay that and our almost £300 Bill.

What prices have you been quoted for KWH and standing charge?

What tariff are you on?
