What's this on my toes? Manky foot pic warning

I'm in 40's, diabetic and disabled. My diabetes is moderately controlled but I have since stepped it up a gear since my review in January so it should be improved in my next GP practice nurse review. Was diagnosed 3 years ago.

I've always suffered with cold feet and to a lesser extent, hands. My toe nails and fingernails regularly turn blue in summer as well as winter. During my recent diabetic foot check the GP nurse said it was difficult to feel a pulse in my feet. She suspected Raynauds but has referred me to Podiatry for assessment (appointment at the end of March).

The last few months I've had red spots on the tops of several toes. The practice nurse wasn't sure what they were. This afternoon after coming in from shopping, I took my shoes and socks off and there were new blue spots at the top of toes. My feet felt sore earlier which is why I looked and they are painful to the touch. I called the emergency podiatry clinic and the earliest they can fit me in is Monday late afternoon.

Has anyone seen this before? The blue marks are more defined and darker in real light but unfortunately the camera isn't picking it up too well.

I had terrible chilblains last year. The doc advised several pairs of socks and fur lined slippers in our freezing house.

I don't really take my socks off for anything except showering now between October and March. And I treated myself to some Uggs.

I'm no longer in pain / burning sensation / itchy etc and last time I looked the redness / bruising had gone.

I didn't need any cream / pills or anything

Hope you're feeling better soon.

olympicsrock Your ear??? That must have been so painful, you poor thing. Haha, I suspect I will enjoy the peeling bit too!

silverlace Are those foot warmers the ones which stick onto your sock? I think I've seen those so it's great to get a recommendation, thanks! I imagine the rechargable ones might be more bulky so probably not idea with a couple of pairs of socks. Definitely going to check the single use ones out!

Forgot to say that a little dab of sudocrem helps.

Yes, they stick to your socks and give off warmth. Not too hot but enough to keep your feet warm. If you are wearing 2 pairs of socks put them on between each pair as the heat might not penetrate through. I don't need 2 pairs when I am using them.

LetsGoCrazyPurpleBanana Got some sudocrem in the cupboard so I'll dig that out tonight, thanks!

silverlace They sound so good!!! Great tip if I am wearing two pair of socks, thanks

No Covid that I know of but did think Covid toe when frantically googling earlier. It's very similar isn't it

I think I have the beginning of that too so hopefully the podiatrist can advise me about that. I used to have quite nice feet but over the last few months they've completely gone to ruin
