Thanks @EmbarrassingHadrosaurus. That’d make more sense. I did a quick google and maths and a tonne of bees would be over 8 million of them, so it made no sense! Always best to check these stats.

Less of the ageism please. Putin is an evil, narcissistic megalomaniac, but I don't think he is senile.

I have read that to sell the invasion to the Russians they have spread propaganda for some time that Ukraine is ill treating/killing Russians (even babies) in the Ukraine. So it becomes a rescue mission which obviously those less well read will support. So many in the vast rural areas still live a very simple hand to mouth existence.
