Lunch ideas for guests today

I have two friends arriving today at lunch time, they will have traveled 2.5 hours to come over for the night. What's an easy lunch I can do for when they arrive? Nothing that requires too much work as I have two excited little ones to entertain until they arrive.

Any ideas appreciated, I'm tired and blank lol

If you have to go out for supplies anyway, does your supermarket do rotisserie chicken? Then just pick up a few salad bits and some bread.

Or if its cold, pick up some cartons of soup like Cully and Sully or something nice!

Shop bought Quiche, bag of shop bought salad and a dressing of some kind and boil a few new potatoes. Make it easy for yourself, especially if you have little ones

Check what they like, I hate quiche! A buffet of some sort seems sensible, to cater to all tastes.

Nice bread and butter, selection of cheeses and cold meats, salad, dips, quiche, potato salad, etc.

It's what I always do for lunch guests!

Bits and bobs is easy enough and ticks a lot of boxes - differing tastes and appetites, plus you can make it as easy (pretty much everything bought in) or hard (all home made) as you want.

So good bread, cheese selection, crudités, dips, salads, maybe a quiche or Spanish tortilla.

If you want something hot you can always do the whole buffet thing plus jackey potatoes. That is the best meal in the world anyway
