Book day character costume ideas for 10yr old boy please?

Every suggestion is being met with 'nuhh'

Mine's going as Hiccup. He was going to take a toy dragon with him but apparently his friend has decided to go as Toothless (Not sure I believe this. Pos something he wishes were true). Also wants spray in red hair - yikes!
What would happen if you just left him to decide? You could have an easy back up plan if he doesn't come up with anything else and he decides at the last minute he wants to dress up.

For those of you suggesting Diary of a wimpy kid, what's your DS wearing? Shorts, t shirt?

Want to get it right for DS and he has hinted at being this character!

There was a great one at DD"s school involving a printed out mask/ headdress thing

Yep, t-shirt & shorts with a mask - I got the idea of instagram.

Danny Champion of the World - school shorts, checked/slightly casual shirt, old fashioned looking jumper, toy spanner, hanky full of raisins. DS also took the dog’s pheasant toy.

DS is going as Draco Malfoy as he's blonde, and apparently the bad guys are cooler. So that's just school uniform and then you can buy a set on amazon/ ebay for about £18 which has a cloak and tie for each of the different Hogwarts houses

What are some of his favourite books? Then could suggest some costumes for these characters.
