Does anyone have a Dacia Sandero or Stepway?

Looking at a new/new to me car as mine is 22 years old and things are starting to go wrong on a regular basis.
The price of cars, both new and second hand, seem horrifying to me Shock but the Dacia seem to be quite good value for money. I'm not fussed about having an all singing, all dancing top of the range car. I just want something that's safe and reliable (& my only must have is air conditioning, as I don't have it in my current car).

Does anyone have a Dacia? Any pros or cons?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks @pinkcattydude for explaining the info on safety. I am interested in the car, seems practical and good value, but concerned about the two stars rating.

The new Zoe got no star!

I’ve got a stepway (2014, 0.9 petrol)
I couldn’t care less about cars so this suits me perfectly!
It’s cheap on fuel, it takes a roof rack, and it’s got a CD player. What’s not to like?? Smile

@cannaethink that's my approach to cats too, hence the age of my current one Grin

My dad has one and I hate it. Feels like a tin can like old basic cars in the 90's. My 15 year old fiesta feels safer and sturdier on the motorway, in winds etc.

I'm looking at buying a Sandero as my current car is 19yrs old and doesn't have isofix for the child seats.

My DP has a 71 plate Dacia Duster which is really great for the money. The inside finish is cheap though and not that dissimilar to my old car (which was high spec back in the day). I prefer the Honda Jazz he traded in but I do like the extra boot room and I find the seats comfortable for me as a passenger. It irritates me that there's no lights in the back which are really needed when there's kids in there. There's only 1 light in the boot too and it's to one side.
I haven't driven it yet but my DP says it's nice to drive.

I have a Duster. Best car I have ever driven.

But then I am not a car snob

U have a sandero. It’s a sack of shit. Costa a fortune to repair and you can only get parts from Dacia

LondonQueen · 24/02/2022 20:04

They're cheap for a reason, wouldn't step foot in one. I'll stick to my Range Rover.
