afternoon tea

Hey guys!
I am thinking about going to afternoon tea soon. However I haven’t been before and was wondering what the experience is like. For example, the place we are going to is £35pp (outside London) - does this mean everyone gets their own stand? or would this be the sharing price? Do you get refills? What is the attire like?

Thank you in advance.

When I've had afternoon tea, it has always been one stand between two. They've had two of everything on the stand eg 2 finger sandwiches of tuna, egg and cress, ham, cheese etc, 2 lots of different types of cakes (small bite size ones), plus scones and clotted cream. They brought out tea and would refill if you asked. The food was more than enough.

In terms of attire, it depends on the place. The last place I went to was a bit of dingy but I've been to nicer places.

I love afternoon tea.

If you have special dietary requirements you will get a stand each. You can usually ask for extra sandwiches and cakes and refills of tea. I’d say smart casual is all you need.

Ooh super! I’d say it will be 35 pp. but you might not need 2. Amazing how filling they are! Went to one on Sunday and ordered one tea and a scone for me. We still even left two gorgeous cakes!

We went a couple of weeks ago.
One stand between two. Sandwiches, sausage roll and cakes, cup of tea,a coffee, one rum and coke, 2 glasses of merlot and a bill of £130.00

Whaaaa! They are taking the whatever. Where did you go? How much was the tea?
I can’t get that to add up to £130, unless the merlot was from the queens own wine cellar.
More info! And…was it nice? Sausage roll sounds a bit greggs. Hope it was elegant!
