How much dihydrocodeine can you take?

Am in agony with period pain/flooding - been lying on floor/in bed for 24 hours . Ended up with a migraine as well yesterday .

111 last night gave me a pack of 28 dihydrocodeine, said I can take 2 four times a day plus paracetomal and ponstan .

I had OTC cocodamol twice yesterday, dhc at 11, again at 5am, and again at 8 (one tablet each time) . Am now back to pain again . Can I take another? Am reluctant to bother GP as she was on phone twice yesterday (about other issues) .

I’m getting through maxi pads one every two hours and super plus tampons as well, clots etc .

History of suspected endo, confirmed adhesions and PCOS . This is my first period in a few months as well, so am wondering if it’s just had longer to build up or something . Definitely not pregnant/miscarrying .

If you don't want to call the GP (you should) then speak to a pharmacist.

You're only taking the half dose of DHC though?

Spread out the paracetamol, DHC and ponstan. Am I right in thinking it's up to:

3 x 500mg ponstan per day (so every 8hrs)
4 x 2pills DHC per day (so every 6hrs)
4 x 1000mg paracetamol per day (every 6 hrs)

In which case, I'd now take a ponstan dose, followed by the full DHC dose in 2hrs time and paracetamol a couple of hours after that.

Check your dosage, check the timings, but spread them all out so you are frequently topping up. Set alarms in the night to take them as well so you don't wake up with nothing in your system. If you get down to nil in the system, your paim is higher of course.

However, the level of pain and clotting you're dealing with is not OK. Still contact the GP.

You need to talk to the pharmacist about how much you can take and the spacing. You can call them up and ask.

Far safer than relying on randoms of the internet who aren't sure themselves.
