Just that really. Spouse can access emails but doesn't know passwords.

My dads hotmail account was deleted after a certain period of not logging in. No one reported his death, it was just their policy. Don’t know about other providers

Can the spouse change the password using Forgotten Password. They're usually linked to the phone number or a second email account.
