Hair dye for 8yo

For World Book Day, 8yo DD wants to be Ginny Weasley. I've never dyed my hair so don't really know how difficult / damaging this is. Is there an easy dye I can use that won't change her hair for too long?

Use a spray which will wash out straight away or a wig. Do not use dye on an 8 year old!

Get her a wig. 8 is too young for chemicals on her skin/scalp

ImInStealthMode · 22/02/2022 18:54

What colour is her hair naturally? If it's light I would absolutely not recommend dying it, red/orange tones can be an absolute nightmare to get out (I speak from bitter experience).

If it's darker than red it probably won't take without bleach first.

Can you get a wig?

Hair chalk

She has brown hair. I suspected as much on the hatsh chemicals which is why I asked. Is there a good spray that would give a "Weasley" / classic "red head " look rather than actual red?

You can get an orange spray in Claire's Accessories which I think would be fine! Or wigs on eBay.

Tell her to be Hermione instead. Crimpers would help.

Wig would be easiest.
You'd have to lighten brunette hair to achieve red.

We have various colours of hair wax (common panda) which work great. You brush it on then let it dry and it washes straight out the same day. It doesn't cause any issues for us, even on my toddler who has various allergies.
