Hang washing out!
Feel more energised thanks to the brighter weather
Have a barbecue
Take my DD to the beach and splash in the sea
Pack away all my winter coats/jumpers for lighter, prettier clothes

I'm well and truly over Winter now Grin what are you looking forward to?

  • my teen, who hates being cooped up inside, being able to go out with friends
  • being able to wear flip flops again instead of boots
  • sitting in the garden and feeling the sun on my face
Violetmo0n · 22/02/2022 11:51

Washing on the line also!
Windows open
Sun as soon as you wake up
Having a coffee in the garden
Son playing in garden all the time
BBQ
Day dresses
Ice cream van

GTAlogic · 22/02/2022 11:57

Get the garden fixed after the recent storms!
Sew some seeds so we can grow our own carrots, toms, chillies and peas.
Hang out the washing and get to the bottom of the basket.

itwasntaparty · 22/02/2022 12:04

Having the doors open
Light evenings / mornings
Eating outside
Hanging the washing out!

Rainbows89 · 22/02/2022 12:09

The thing I’m most looking forward to is lighter mornings and evenings. In the last few weeks I’ve noticed the light extending and it’s already made a big difference to my mood. I didn’t realise I was so affected by the dark.

Also, swimming in the lake, bike rides, ice creams, early morning walks with pooch.

ilovesooty · 22/02/2022 12:12

Sit in the garden.
Wear sandals, flip flops and t shirts all the time.
See the light evenings.
Go on holiday.

Of course as soon as we have a couple of days of sunshine there'll be all the threads yearning for cosy and snuggling.

Squiff70 · 22/02/2022 12:12

Turf my crazy rabbits outside into the garden so I can deep clean their pigsty of a shed!

sofakingcool · 22/02/2022 12:13

Hang my washing out - biggest bug bear of the winter is the washing hanging around everywhere Angry

Fizbosshoes · 22/02/2022 12:14

Put washing outside to dry
Running in daylight during the week

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 22/02/2022 13:12

Sit in the garden and dry my hair.
Grow summer veg and flowers.
Feed the baby chicks of all the birds I've been feeding all winter.
Feed my local hedgehogs and hear them snuffling in the dark.
Not have lights on at night/in a morning.
Smell freshly mown lawns.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 22/02/2022 13:16

Just to add - it cannot come soon enough. 🌞🍅🌻🐥🦔

Itsagrandoldteam · 22/02/2022 13:33

Play golf - we were nearly there and then there has been so much rain by us that the course is now water logged.

Put the washing out on the line.
Go for a walk along the beach.
Just feeling the sun on my face, instead of the biting cold wind.
I can't wait.

billyt · 23/02/2022 14:15

Walk the dog without having to dress like I'm heading out at the North Pole Grin

emuloc · 23/02/2022 14:23

Sit in the garden, and listen to the birds chirping in the trees, with the sun on my face.
Go to the seaside
Not have to wear a hat

Ohdofuckofdear · 23/02/2022 14:37

Washing on the line.
All of the beautiful flowers coming into bloom.
Being able to potter about in the garden without freezing to death or being soaked to the bone.
Days out to the seaside, theme parks, farms and zoos.
Going on picnics.
Sitting in the garden of an evening having a drink and playing cards.
Having people round for BBQs.
Taking a drive in the countryside and stopping of at a lovely pub to have a meal and drink in the pubs garden.
Sandals,flip flops and summer clothes.
Not needing to wear a coat.
Going on holiday and seeing my DMIL and DFIL.
Just the feel and smell of summer, everything smells and feels so much lighter and sweeter to me than any other time of the year.

Fizbosshoes · 23/02/2022 14:56

So happy to leave work in daylight yesterday Smile

Seemslikeagoodidea · 23/02/2022 15:24

Get seedlings growing and look forward to happy hours pottering about in the garden and on my allotment. Wear summer clothes and sandals, sit in the garden with a book and a cool drink. Feel the sun on my face and smell lavender, roses and jasmine when out walking.

For me, spring begins around mid March, rather than 1st (which is just a date chosen by the Met office for their spring stats to begin). So, I keep my expectations low for the first half of March.

ShadowPuppets · 23/02/2022 15:30

Have DS, due in May.
Have a couple of glasses of wine (!!!) with DH on the patio in the early evening.
Walk DD to nursery rather than bundling her up and dashing her to the car.

I agree with @Rainbows89, my alarm (DD) goes off by 6.30 every day and it being light at that hour has meant I’m happier this week than I have been in months!

OrganisedChaos22 · 23/02/2022 15:35

I've been putting washing out on sunny days since Jan. Bit of breeze it virtually dries. Smells fresh then finish in tumble or airer.
Especially bedding flapping about in the highline. Makes me happy.

MangoM · 23/02/2022 15:43

I'm looking forward to saying hello to my new baby and spending my maternity leave in our newly decked out garden!

And hanging the washing out too, especially the bedding Smile

GerundTheBehemoth · 23/02/2022 15:52

Stay in the sea for longer than 10 minutes!

Chishnfips · 23/02/2022 16:24

Have the windows open so the cat can come and go as she pleases instead of just sitting there meowing until you get up and go open it for her to just look and saunter outside and 30 seconds later meow from the otherside asking to be let back in.

Chippingbird23 · 23/02/2022 20:26

Look forward to Autumn again lol hot chocolate, comfy dressing gowns, Beautiful colours, Halloween, bonfire night and excitement of Xmas. Ok ok but you know this thread is coming up very shortly 🤣

I like hot sun on my skin, don’t like light mornings unless I have blackout curtains, can’t stand light evenings until 10pm arghhh like it when gets to August and sunset starts at 8. Beach days out are good, picnics but hate wasps. Oh with every lovely thing about summer is something really annoying.

Juanbablo · 23/02/2022 20:27

Sit outside and watch the kids and dog play with friends.

Go out without a coat.

Not be cold all the time.

Go camping.

PollyCreo · 23/02/2022 20:38

This! I've got four cats and they've all been very close to getting re-homed recently Grin
