World book Day outfit for 11 month old

Hello- my 11 month old is due to start nursery soon and is going for some settling in sessions soon. On one of these days he's going in for only 2 hours and I've been told it's world book Day. Even if I had the skills to stitch a costume i just don't have the time to do it with a 11 month old baby that's not sleeping, nor do I want to spend loads of money on a costume that will only be worn for 2 hours and baby will not even notice this! Could I just send him in a lion king babygrow or something or will he look really out of place without a proper costume hence making me look like a terrible lazy mum?

Mine didn't dress up for wbd until school age. They didn't care and neither did nursery.

And thank goodness! I agree it's ridiculous too but wasn't sure if I was just being miserable wet blanket or just super lazy mum. I find other mums just seem to have so much more energy than I do.
Lots of great ideas here and I think I'll be able to use an existing top we have so all sorted. X

yes the lion King baby grow will be just fine as it is a Disney book. when my ds was in pre school nursery he went to his book day in his monkey onesie that he already had. luckily he did have a book which he loved where the main character was a monkey so it worked out quite well and didn't cost me a penny. This year he will be going to school in last years halloween costume which was a werewolf and he can be the big bad wolf! I hate spending money on costumes that will never be worn again.
