No sign of postman for two days. Checked royal mail and area is not showing up as delayed. Ordered two items which were supposed to arrive yesterday and need them for Monday!

Anyone else had no post?

I have post pretty much every day but unless you live in my street I can't see how that helps you Grin

GirlInACountrySong · 19/02/2022 13:15

Who knows!

Delays
Weather
Sickness
No cover

Cottagepieandpeas · 19/02/2022 13:16

I think @marqueses is probably right Grin

But as you asked, we had none yesterday and post wasn’t collected from our little post office either.
Today we had one soggy parcel.

KZKZ001 · 19/02/2022 13:17

I rather have a soggy parcel then nothing 🤣 so annoyed as I needed them for Monday. Now have to either order for tomorrow prime or go out and get them. I can’t even get through to office as it’s a general royal mail number.

Surely if it’s sickness someone else to cover? 🤷‍♀️

I think Royal Mail had to suspend deliveries in some areas because of Storm Eunice. Do you live on one of the areas that was red alert OP?

Could also be to do with Covid? We had a lot of delays here last month because so many were off sick.

I hope your urgent post arrives on Monday.

Tealightsandd · 19/02/2022 13:19

Or maybe the postman has been kidnapped by aliens (hope he/she's alright) 👽

Chishnfips · 19/02/2022 13:31

Nothing yesterday but I wasn't expecting them to be working really. He turned up today though again.

OrganisedChaos22 · 19/02/2022 13:34

We've had some horrendous weather. Maybe their dcs schools were closed so had to look after them.
Maybe it was deemed too dangerous to go out in it by their management.
Tbh I wouldn't even want my postie to drag around in the weather we've had. Even today is 45kmh winds and torrential rain.

RedCandyApple · 19/02/2022 13:35

Not had anything either

If sickness / absence levels are high they won’t have enough people to cover. They won’t have an endless supply of post people

You think? Cover is often covering elsewhere

I'm a retail manager....we cannot magic up extra staff with people off with covid, isolating and now stress from running round covering everyone else... as well as dealing with 'it should be business as usual' moaning customers!

vodkaredbullgirl · 19/02/2022 13:41

Storm Eunice

GirlInACountrySong · 19/02/2022 13:42

Whatever the reason I hope your local postal staff are all ok...

dizzydizzydizzy · 19/02/2022 13:42

We are often have no post. I talk to my postie a lot too. He often misses out a day due to short staffing.

girlmom21 · 19/02/2022 13:45

We haven't had a single postal delay throughout the whole of covid, awful weather etc. But things are naturally going to be delayed at the moment if you live in certain areas or parcels are coming from certain places.

Is there no tracking?
