Gatwick late evening?

Has anyone come back through Gatwick recently? Wondering how long is likely to be realistic for passport control and baggage reclaim arriving at 9pm…

Many thanks

Can you use the e-gates or will you be going through the slower family lanes?

Baggage reclaim at LGW is very hit and miss, can be anything from 20 min after touchdown to 1 hour…

We came through on Thursday night, landing about 9:30. It was easy and quick - loads of staff at passport control, we maybe had to wait two minutes for our turn? And that was at the family queue, from a family holiday destination so there were lots of families.

Baggage was slower, but it gave us all enough time to go to the loo, then our bag was there.

Off the plane and back at the car in less than half an hour.

Late night I’ve always found passport control very efficient but that baggage takes forever, typically around 40 minutes but on a bad day an hour.

Same day, same experience, at about 6pm.
