Nice Restaurant/Hotel Yorkshire

Can anyone suggest a nice hotel or restaurant in Yorkshire for a weekday anniversary lunch for my elderly parents?

I'm looking for somewhere classy but not Michelin - not burger and chips, and not a lettuce leaf and some foam. I used to take them to Middlethorpe Hall, but since the pandemic they've stopped doing weekday lunches. Somewhere out in the country with nice views would be good.

Thank you!

Rudding Park in Harrogate would fit the bill!

Yorkshire is geographically vast - can you narrow it down a bit?

Devonshire Arms or Swinton Park are two of my favourites in North Yorks.

The Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton is lovely and whilst lacking in the grandeur of afternoon tea at Betty's there's a fab Shepherds Hut in Litton called Bettys Vintage Hut that does afternoon tea that people travel for miles for but without knowing where in the vast county of Yorkshire you're looking at it's a little difficult to make suitable suggestions

Thank you for the replies. They're based in York, and wouldn't want to travel too far, perhaps up to 45 mins drive

Star at Sancton is great food cosy gastropub feel to - feel special or pipe and glass at south dalton that Michelin starred but not stuffy.

Swinton Park. Love it there.

We had a lovely meal at Tykes restaurant at Sandburn Hall yesterday, it’s about 20 minutes from York Centre.

My parents love the lion at Blakey Ridge. It's traditional pub food but was nice last time we went.

The Pheasant at Harome is lovely.
Food is fancy enough to feel like a treat, but no poncy slivers. The dining room is smart, and you can take coffee and petit fours by the fire in the lounge afterwards.

The Crab and Lobster at Asenby. Out. Of. This. World. (And not too silly prices either)

Moooooooooooooooooo · 18/02/2022 17:17

Oh, and Asenby isn’t too far from York either.
