How Did I Not Know This?

I've not been to my local library in years. I keep meaning to go, I keep putting it off.

I've only JUST discovered that my library has an account for audio books (not audible app but borrow box app), ebooks and a press reader for accessing articles behind a pay wall.

I listen to podcasts (OK yes mostly free) but to be able to listen to books without paying for another app subscription will be magic. I'm so happy.

I'm sorry I've neglected you library to the point where I can't find my card. I'm going down tomorrow to get a new one sorted.

What a fantastic service.

It's brilliant isn't it? My local library service has just got Comicsplus which is an online library of comics, graphic novels and manga. I just don't think many people know about it!

Our library uses Libby. It’s brilliant. All free with no ads, which is kind of unimaginable in this age of “if you’re not paying for the product, you are the product”.

Oh comics too!

My one uses libby for some of its service and the borrow box for the audio books - no ads you say? This just gets better and better!

I'm going down tomorrow in the hope of a new card (need the barcode number to login)

Thanks for that reminder, I had forgotten about BorrowBox and have just borrowed a new audiobook Smile

I love getting audio books from the library, and ours also do ebooks and various magazines online too. So convenient and a great service. Our libraries have so much more than just books (not that books aren't also brilliant) and are a fantastic resource with lovely, knowledgeable librarians too. I like to listen to audio on about 1.6 x speed so also get through them a bit quicker than reading myself!

We discovered this at the start of the pandemic - it's brilliant isn't it! DD and I have both had e-books and audiobooks through BorrowBox.

I love it too

Discovering that my library offers audiobooks via the Libby app just about saved my sanity under lockdown last year! Brilliant service - I was about to sign up to audible too which would have been £8pcm for far fewer audiobooks.

It's fantastic isn't it! I got my library card today. I've been on the press reader looking at home and garden magazines. Downloaded an audio book and queuing something up for an ebook.

I added up the different products, works out at £400 worth of subscriptions a year!

Yep, another fab reason to love (& use) your library!
