Im really stuck, we are attending a wedding soon and I need help with my childrens outfits. My daughter is 13 and tomboy and hates dresses. My son is 8 and hates suits and never worn a shirt. He hates them. Do you have any recommendations? Ive been looking online and really struggling to find something 🤷‍♀️

What DO they wear? Would your DD wear trousers, blouse and jacket? Jumpsuit? Would DS wear trousers and a short sleeved shirt?

I don't think it's necessary for kids to get too dressed up for weddings. I've been to a few with my son and I just get him a nice smart outfit from Next or somewhere similar. Smart trousers and a polo shirt for your son, some sort of jumpsuit for your daughter or trousers and a nice top? People seem to get caught up on the idea of boys having to wear suits to weddings but apart from anything else, it's a complete waste of money. As long as they don't turn up in joggers and hoodies I don't think anyone will bat an eyelid at the outfits of kids.

Yeah my dd12 wore a jumpsuit and a cardigan to a wedding last year. Lots of women is trouser suits of some kind. Take her to primark and ask her to pick a party outfit? (Women get away with just about anything but jeans and sweaters I think...)

At 8 boy is maybe a bit more challenging to 'conform' if that is what you are aiming at. What does he wear for school? School trousers a shirt / polo? Would a more flambouant jacket / waistcoat get him into a shirt... (got my ds8 a cheap suit from ebay which he loved but that doesn't help!)

My boys don't like shirts with stiff collars but Next had some with those little collars, is it called grandad collars? And smart chinos to go with them?
Definitely go with jumpsuit for your daughter, comfy but still dressed up.

Boy: Ralph Lauren polo shirt and shorts or chinos depending on the weather.
Girl : jumpsuit and cardigan
Or culottes and a nice top. X
