Can we have a thread for learning/sharing words?

I love words. Love learning new ones.

I've recently come across 'onism' meaning the sense of how little of the world one will experience. I feel like that a lot of the time and had wondered if it had a name!

Also liberosis- the desire to stop caring so much.

Any to add? Did everyone know those and I'm just a dullard? :)

Lovely idea for a thread.

I like words, always find them interesting but don't really have much confidence when it comes to using new ones in case I say them wrong!

I like the word nikhedonia which means the pleasure or excitement that comes from anticipating future success.

:)
Thought it was just me for a while before you responded!
That is a good one. Related to anhedonia or the lack of possibility to feel pleasure.
I know what you mean about worries of using them incorrectly!
