Hi everyone, I'm really hoping for advice as my poor husband is climbing the walls due to the impatient critter that he is !
Husband has been applying flat out for jobs (needs a change as his current job is a nightmare for lots of reasons)
He applied for a perfect job that came online and got an interview within 3days with the hiring manager. All went well. Got through to 2nd stage, this time there were 3 other big wigs on the zoom too. I must add my husband is extremely well qualified in his field ( almost to a fault as this has been reason that he has not been selected for other roles that he has applied for ) anyway, he answered all questions and felt it went as well as it could but they kept grilling him as to why he would want to take a step down from
Current job (more money yet less stress is the actual reason plus an annual bonus in a secure job) but he was able go answer in a way that sounded good and in his favour etc.
He however has heard nothing back in 3weeks? The recruitment agent reported back saying that he had spoken to hiring manager and that it was reported that he apparently gave a great interview and that another man he had put forward has already been told after 2nd interview that he hadn't been successful and was no longer in the recruitment process.
I think what I am asking is, is this normal for a big company to have long winded processes? If it's a definite no would they have told him already? Are they keeping him at arms length incase a better person comes along? What are your thoughts? He is so anxious as he really wants and needs this job and it would be perfect but the longer it's dragging on he's becoming deflated and is convinced he hasn't got it.
Your views would be so gratefully appreciated
