Just wondering if any of you lovely people have any wee job/ side hustle that earns you a few pounds at the end of the week. I would love to think of something that didn't involve a big wallop of cash to start up but the idea of working from home doing something that I can control
Seems wonderful, esp if I was my own boss.

If you do this, what is it you do?

Have you made a few quid weekly or do you do it sporadically? I'm intrigued

I have various side hustles. Most involve my skill set as an employee. I am self employed and work for other companies as free lance extra hands. Mostly event work where their own staff isn’t enough to cover it. Business is booming for me and I’m turning down work.

Things like event security, bar work, hospitality, stewarding, first aid, etc. Places of work would be sporting venues (football, horse racing, golf), festive events, concert venues, festivals.

It can be hard to get started and knowing who to contact to offer your services but once you are known it’s a small enough ‘community’ that you get to find out other contacts or they come looking for you.

I have a high skill level now so my standing rate is £25 per hour.

In addition to above. I also have a full time salaried job.

Well done, I absolutely love to hear people doing well and it sure sounds like you've nailed it!!

I tutor a very specific skill I use in my job - I’m in performing arts.

I charge between £40-45 per hour, and nowadays half the work is done online so it really is an hour. Before Covid I would sometimes spend up to 2.5h going back and from each client’s house…

I currently only do a couple of hours a week but could easily increase to 8-10h if I wanted. I just don’t have the time for that at the moment.
