Weather awful again where we are. Attempted to go out and get a bit of fresh air yesterday but we all ended up a bit wet, cold and miserable! On my own with 2 dc, 11 & 6, looking for ideas that takes them away from screens!

So far nothing!
Girls sitting in front of the telly 🙈🙈

Today we are going to see the world….. l have been saying this all week, going to see a ballon blown up as the world in the church l got married in. I have to drive 45 minutes to get there but when l do l will have lunch with mum and see my sister and my 6 & 9 year old will see there cousins. How about bowling, it’s still early enough to catch a Sunday morning viewing (even though it’s still screen time) or stay in and read books or have a game day. Go down and hide the tech now (unless they are on it already) l sometimes declare a clean up day and make them tidy there rooms including wardrobe. I can leave my 11 yo but have to supervise my 6 yo.

LouLou198 · 13/02/2022 09:43

@moocow123456 glad it's not just mine! @Solongtoshort sounds like a lovely day you have planned. Wardrobe clear out sounds like a great idea- thank you. Might look at booking a bowling lane for tomorrow.

I had planned on chilling out at home but now I have to go to a funeral last minute and pay my respects (said person died on weds)

BuritoCat · 13/02/2022 09:49

Not much, went out yesterday for the day so going to chill today as DC aren't in half term yet.

WayshrineNotFound · 13/02/2022 09:51

Not leaving the house.
Tedious housework.
Trying to get a new lamp working in the kitchen.
Making rice pudding, and cooking some fish.
Some physio and stretching at some point, hopefully. I should!

MushroomHunter · 13/02/2022 09:54

Currently on the sofa with ☕️
Should be doing the laundry
Rugby cancelled because of the bad weather
Need to find something active to do as I’ve been extremely lazy this week and I feel so sluggish.

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 13/02/2022 09:58

Yesterday I cleaned the house, took DCs to clubs and hosted a play date. Followed by 🍷

Today it's pissing down, DCs are under the weather, DH is still working away and we're all knackered. We're having a food and relaxation day. Homemade waffles and bacon for breakfast, cuddling the pets, board games, colouring, home made pizza and cupcakes for lunch, film, baths, a hearty shepherd's pie for dinner.

Pyewhacket · 13/02/2022 10:04

For the first time in ages I have the weekend off so I'm going to jump in the shower and get my backside down to the stables and take my horse Benson out for a hack. I'll then cook sunday roast, clear up and start looking at holidays. I've only had the occasional day off since Covid struck so I'm hoping to get at least a week away. I then want to organise airline tickets to JFK to see my father. But with costs going up I need to be careful.

Crunchymum · 13/02/2022 10:05

Today is going to be a PJ day / lazy one for us.

We had a busy one yesterday (swimming, 2 parties and I was out for a posh dinner) and we were all out for dinner on Friday too as we had relatives over. Kids need a bit of down time.

Will do all the usual baths / homework (and I may even iron the uniforms) so we go into half term all prepped!!

It's going to rain all day so I don't feel bad staying in. We'll watch a film later and I'll do a one pot dinner. Something nice and easy (fancy a chilli but I'll have to do two pots as the kids won't eat as hot as I like it)

Mine love bowling / cinema / swimming as indoor activities. All cost money though 😕

LouLou198 · 13/02/2022 10:09

@apprenticewage sorry for your loss Thanks. Sounds like a lot of you are having a cosy day. Just booked bowling for tomorrow, managed to find a discount code too. Might try and find a new one pot dish to make for later, or maybe treat us to a takeaway Smile

Hellocatshome · 13/02/2022 10:11

Watching DS2 11 swimming in the County Championships its no spectators due to covid so we are watching at home on a live stream on YouTube which is definitely more nerve wracking than watching in person but at least I get to stay in my jimjams.

cptartapp · 13/02/2022 10:16

Packing. Flying to Malaga tomorrow for a few days and it's looking lovely!

troppibambini6 · 13/02/2022 10:18

Weather is awful here too.
Rugby is cancelled so two youngest are sat watching tv.
Next oldest child is watching Enola Holmes in the other room.
DH has just got up as he was out last night.
Ive just dropped eldest at work in my pjs.
Might try and convince everyone out for a walk with the dog. Dd has netball match later.
Will probably just have a chilled out day watching films in front of the fire. Might cook a roast later.
Sorry not really much help!!!

maddiemookins16mum · 13/02/2022 10:21

We’ve just had poached eggs on toast for breakfast. DH is off to meet a friend and play Badminton. DD is having a bath. I’m doing a high tea for 12 teens this afternoon, church youth group. I made 2 lemon drizzle cakes, a chocolate cake and a Victoria sandwich yesterday. Will do a pile of sandwiches (ham, cheese and salmon) and some crumpets/veggie sausage rolls too. They tend to demolish the lot (and one in particular asks to take some home so I want to be sure there is lots). Need to pop and get some shopping in Aldi. Pork steaks, Dolphinose potatoes and winter coleslaw for lunch about 1pm.

MintMe · 13/02/2022 10:22

It's my turn to lie in so DH has taken DS to the trampoline park, then I think they're going to hit up the toy store, B&M and then Greggs for the obligatory sausage roll. I'm hoping that keeps them out til lunch!

Then it'll be an afternoon of films, Lego and colouring in between sorting stuff for the week.

joysmoy66 · 13/02/2022 10:22

I'm up and dressed. H is coming to pick the kids up shortly for a few hours. We are two weeks into a separation. I'm going to go to a coffee shop on my own and drink coffee and eat cake. When kids are back will snuggle up and watch a film together before I cook dinner. Then a glass of wine and chill this evening.

Simonjt · 13/02/2022 10:29

Not much, we got six hours sleep last night, so after a few weeks of no more than two hours at a time we’re in shock.

We’re off on a woodland walk later and lunch out, but apart from that we’re having a very lazy day.

scryingeyes · 13/02/2022 10:57

Cleaning and washing and Sunday lunching.
In pjs probably. Slovenly, but it's my day off. I really don't want to do the cleaning, washing and cooking but needs must.

lucysmam · 13/02/2022 11:12

Mine are thoroughly glued to their screens today; we wandered into town, to the market yesterday.

Dd1 is up, showered and properly dressed though. Dd2 is practising make up upstairs.

I've cleaned out the "shit drawer" in the kitchen, washed up after last night, on a second wash load, ironed school shirts to go away & put gammon in the slow cooker.

I'm going to hang this load then have an hour at some Rainbows and Guides prep for next half term - I want it to be more "grab and go" than it has this half term since I have less time in the week now.

And I want to tackle under the sink too at some point today.

BuddhaForMary · 13/02/2022 11:22

Got all my chores and shopping done yesterday so today is a pj day for all. I sorted the dogs at 6, back to bed with my coffee and got up at 10. Sat with my second coffee listening to the rain. DC still in bed but I can hear TiKTok videos so I'll get on with some pancakes soon.

This aft it'll be tv/Xbox, keep the curtains on and hibernate kind of day. I'm making a trifle and steak and chips for tea.

Dogs will get a good run this evening then baths and early night. It's not half term here yet,

MrsDThomas · 13/02/2022 11:29

Another right old day, its worse today!

Been for a run, i battled the wind. Bacon sandwich and a coffee for lunch, then potter and prepping the veg for the roast.

hellcatspangle · 13/02/2022 11:35

Been for a wet and windy walk (I have to get fresh air every day no matter what the weather) and we are off out for a pub lunch. Then I'll come home and get my PJs on!

FoamBurst · 13/02/2022 11:55

Ironing.
Roast dinner.
Mop when dcs are in bed.

Dcs have played toys all morning now on screens.

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 13/02/2022 11:58

Being tired mainly.

I'm not a night owl at all, usually in bed by 10, but last night we went out for a meal with a large group of friends and didn't get home until 1am.

I might have drunk a bit too much as well.
