Mortgage Stress

Wonder if anyone can put my mind at rest a bit! We have had a offer accepted on a property, had a AIP beforehand and all good. During the first stage of the application they had a issue with us having a bit more debt than they would like so we have had to extend the term by 5 years. Not too concerned about this as we are keeping some equity back from our sale in order to pay the debt off so we will be able to overpay the mortgage to bring the term back down.
Anyway we have now passed the first stage and uploaded our payslips and now we have a appointment booked on Monday with the mortgage advisor which we have been told will take up to a hour. I'm just panicking that they are going to turn round and say no 😫 DH says it'll be fine as we wouldn't have got this far and passed the initial affordability if they weren't going to give us the mortgage but I just feel very apprehensive and nervous about it!
Can anyone advise what this second stage involves? We have answered so many questions already about all our outgoings, incomings, debt etc I don't know what else they can possibly have to ask us!!

Have you chosen a lender? It’s unusual at that stage to take that long for an appointment, but in my experience it does not take that long for a simple “no we can’t help you”. They may be planning on trying to sell you insurance. Or the lender they originally had in mind may not have accepted you after reviewing payslips and they may be in the process of applying to a new lender. Don’t worry too much, if you have spare equity and no missed payments / ccj’s you’ll be fine.
