My 16 year old daughter is due to go skiing with her school (and good friends) tomorrow morning.

This holiday was cancelled last year due to Covid so it's been two years in the making.

We have been so careful and swerved Covid so far.

We've been giving her a lateral flow test every day this week. However, tonight she has just tested positive for Covid. I did three tests just to make sure. I've tested positive too.

Of all the days to test positive, it would be today!!!!

I am so upset for her!

That’s so disappointing for her. We’re due to fly home to see our family next week, it’s been so long, i can’t wait to get there. DS voluntarily went to bed early last night with cold symptoms. Negative test (so far), I will be absolutely gutted if we have to cancel this trip.

I've told her that it's better to have tested positive now than when she gets out there as she would have to stay in a room on her own and wouldn't be able to ski. She may also have to stay on longer after the holiday, with a teacher, until she's got the all clear to come home.

Understandably this hasn't really made her feel much better!

I would imagine her friends parents (who she is with at school all day) are worried their girls may now test positive whilst out there on holiday!
